Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are frequently asked questions about dispensers and dispensing systems.
You can find information about product specifications, control methods, automation capabilities, and implementation requirements.

What is a dispenser?

The dispensers manufactured by our company are controllers and peripheral equipment designed for high-precision dispensing of various liquids.
These dispensers are used not only in the electronics industry but also in a wide range of fields including medical and food industries.
We offer fluid dispensers capable of handling all types of applications.

What are the applications for dispensing?

The main applications for our dispensers include:

  • Molding of electrical components such as small relays
  • IC coating with epoxy
  • Temporary fixing of chips with UV adhesive
  • Grease application to gear cases
  • Silver paste dispensing in die bonding processes
  • CSP/BGA underfill
  • CSP/BGA encapsulation (sealing)
  • Solder paste application (dot/line)
  • Silicone sealing for LED panels
  • Liquid filling for cosmetic bottles
What is the structure of a dispensing system?

Dispensing systems are classified into the following two types based on their control method:

  1. Flow control method
  2. Volumetric control method

【Flow Control Method】

  • System 1 (Barrel method) / System 2 (Cartridge method)
Compressed air is directly supplied from the dispenser to a pressurized container filled with liquid material for dispensing.
  • System 3 / System 4 (Valve + Cartridge method / Valve + Tank method)
Dispensing is controlled by pressurizing the liquid material and turning the flow path on/off.
Is it possible to create automated systems using dispensers?

Yes, it is possible.
We can provide desktop robot systems, standalone systems, and fully automated dispensing systems customized to your specifications.

Are there dispensing controllers that can store dispensing data internally?

Yes.
ACCURA 9 and ACCURA 8DX are equipped with 100-channel data memory, while ACCURA DG has 500-channel data memory.

Can data management be performed by connecting to a PC?

Yes.
ACCURA 9 and ACCURA 8DX can save and load data using RS232C.
ACCURA DG comes with our proprietary communication software.

Is there a way to compensate for dispensing volume variations due to liquid level drop?

Yes. The ACCURA series has a function to compensate for dispensing volume variations caused by liquid level drop.

【What is the effect of liquid level drop (change in air space volume)?】

When the liquid level in the barrel drops, the air space volume increases, causing pressure wave response delays that lead to reduced dispensing volume and variations.
Some models in our ACCURA series compensate for volume variations using proprietary technology (patented in Japan and the US), and also feature automatic vacuum pressure correction to prevent liquid dripping.

Is there a way to suppress dispensing volume variations due to liquid temperature changes?

Yes.
By using the temperature management system “NEO-ONE,” dispensing at constant temperature becomes possible.
This is particularly effective for solder paste and UV adhesives.

Is it possible to borrow a demonstration system?

Yes.
We provide demonstration units free of charge. Please contact your local IEI sales office. (Overseas availability upon consultation)

Can IEI dispensers be tested in combination with robots or automatic dispensing equipment?

Yes.
Demonstrations using various robots and automatic dispensing equipment are possible at our office.
Please contact your local IEI sales office. (Overseas availability upon consultation)

Can test accessories such as needles, barrels, and plungers be provided free of charge?

Yes.
We can provide accessory samples such as needles, barrels, and plungers free of charge.
Please contact your local sales office. (Overseas availability upon consultation)

Can dispensers be integrated into automated systems?

Yes.
External control is possible through the 4-pin metal connector on the back of the dispenser unit.
Additionally, the ACCURA series can operate synchronously with equipment using RS232C or parallel ports.

Is there a method for filling barrels with liquid materials?

Yes.
We offer two types of filling systems for liquid materials into barrels: vacuum type and pressure type.

Can nozzle types be specified?

Yes.
We can provide custom nozzles tailored to your specifications, including nozzle length, angle, and multi-point configurations.

Is easy automation possible?

Yes.
Integration and upgrades with desktop robots “IR Series” and various automation systems are possible.

No special equipment is required.
The dispenser can be used with AC100-220V power supply and compressed air (oil-free dry air) for operation.
